The Friends of Doylestown Library is gearing up for our 2019 book sale, which will be held from October 26 until November 2. The sale opens at when the library opens and closes one hour before the library closes. The sale ends at noon on November 2. See you there!

Want the best selection? Become a member of the Friends of Doylestown Library and you will be entitled to shop at the book sale on October 25 from 5 to 7 pm, the evening before it opens to the public. You can become a member at the door.

The Friends is currently accepting book donations. We are specifically looking for English language books in good condition from the following categories:

  • Fiction -- all kinds, including mysteries
  • Children's -- all ages, in good condition 
  • History and War​ 
  • Art
  • Cooking
  • Knitting
  • Non-fiction that is less than 5 years old
  • DVDs
  • Audio books on CD only (no cassettes, please)


We do not  accept books from the following categories:

  • Reference books 
  • Textbooks
  • Computer manuals
  • Yellow, water damaged, or musty books
  • Directories
  • Foreign language  
  • Finance, politics, or health and wellness over 3 years old
  • Audio tapes
  • VHS tapes


We do not accept donations of items that are not books, such as board games, puzzles, cassette tapes, calendars and stuffed animals.
